Villa 2 bedroom Les Portes-en-ré

The house is in a great location. It's in a quiet neighborhood only a short walk or bike ride from the village and is more or less on the beach which we found perfect. We rented bikes during our stay and we could easily bike to the various beaches nearby as well as to the grocery store etc. As for the house, it's relatively small but has a smart u-shaped layout with the bedrooms in one end, the kitchen in the middle and the living room at the other end. Thereby we could put our kids to bed in the bedroom and still use the kitchen and living room without disturbing them. The house also has two terraces we're we had dinner etc. The only downside to the house is that it's quite obvious that it's being used for rentals only. The garden which is quite big was unfortunately neglected and over-grown when we arrived and the two terraces dirty and in need of a clean up. The bedrooms also show signs of worn, especially the smaller one which needs a paint job and someone to fix the cracks in the walls. The large living room window was also so dirty during our stay that we could hardly see out to the terrace. All these remarks could obiously easily be fixed but we were just surprised that the owner seemed to have no interest. Anyway, wWe could definitely consider to come back for a new rental if the owner just would clean up the property as the location of the house is very good.
