The Francofolies festival was created in 1985 on the initiative of Jean-Louis Foulquier. Since 1985, it has been held every year in La Rochelle. This festival intends to highlight new artists mainly French and from the Francophone scene. During your holiday on the island of Ré, do not hesitate to book your place for this festival. It usually takes place between the second and third week of July. For those of you who do not wish to leave the island during their holiday, be aware that many bars / restaurants (especially in Saint Martin de Re) organize festive evenings throughout the all summer. "La Baleine Bleu", "Le Bistrot du marin" in Saint-Martin-de-Ré, or the Taxi Brousse in La Couarde are places where you will always be well received and for sure the relaxed atmosphere should please you! For younger people, discos are rare on the island! The main one being the Pergola, the "Pergo" for those who know it, where you can end your evening in style! In Saint Martin, you will enjoy "Le Bastion" for its unusual layout and its music.
