Une maison offrant de belles prestations... située au centre du village de La Noue, à toute proximité de la plage, du marché et des commerces. Le village de La Noue, assez peu connu sur l'ile de ré, puisque rattaché à Saint Marie de ré se situe entre Sainte Marie et le Bois Plage en ré, à toute proximité de la plage des Grenettes. La Noue est un village assez central, point idéal pour partir en ballade à vélo aussi bien vers La Flotte que vers le Bois Plage.
We've just spent a glorious couple of weeks at Laurent's house and would highly recommend it. Fantastic location in gorgeous La Noue, with its (far too easy) walk to the boulangerie and daily market - and short walk to the beach. The house had everything we could ask for and was very comfortable. Laurent is a superb host and very quick to respond to communication. Our only small disappointment was having to pay an extra $100 for linen (apparently the french way but wasn't made clear on the site) and then having to make all the beds up ourselves. But, as I say, minor detail and I wouldn't let that deter anyone considering this property. Thanks again Laurent and we look forward to returning in the future!
To sum up - this place was perfect for us. We were a family of four, but we had several guests and this place easily accomodstes 8. The welcome we received when we arrived, the impeccable standard of the house, its perfect location in the nice village of La Noue - all these factors contributed to our best ever holiday on Ile de Re. We recently returned from spending 2 weeks in La Noue and really didn't want to leave. The house itself is contemporary, bright, clean and well equipped. It has everything a family could need to feel at home (I especially appreciated the nespresso machine!). The street is peaceful and quiet and yet is only a short stroll to the village square. There you will find a fabulous bakery which is open all day and a daily market each morning where you can buy fresh, local food and even some jewellery/clothes/gifts. There is also a fishmonger, hairdresser, cheese/wine shop, 2 bike hire shops and a tabac on the square and 2 good restaurants which are both worth a visit (or a few visits!). We hired bikes on our first day and spent the 2 weeks cycling around the island using the cycle paths. The bus stop is nearby if you prefer to travel this way and takes you to La Rochelle in 40 mins or around all the villages of the island. I would hiighly recommend the Ile de Re as a holiday destination which anyone would enjoy and would recommend Laurent and Frederique's beautiful home as a base for your stay without hesitation.
This is a nice spacious modern property in a quiet area of La Noue, but conveniently close to the daily market, bakers/patisserie (bad news if you're watching your weight!), charcuterie, fish shop, and a nice restaurant and bar/restaurant. The property is very well equipped, and accommodated our group of four/five adults and a young child without problems. The rear south facing patio garden is walled and acts as a sun trap, and the pool area is quiet, secluded, and provides good shelter from the wind. The nearest beach is approximately 5-10 minutes walk, and there is a better swimming beach a short drive or cycle away at Le Blois Plage. There is easy access to the cycle path network by which you can travel to all parts of the island, and La Rochelle and the airport are about 20 minutes drive away. We had a thoroughly enjoyable two weeks here, and would definitely consider returning to explore further.
